Root & Wander

Giving a decade of field expertise the structure and the language to become a brand.

Sector
Consultancy · Global supply chains
Scope
Positioning · Offer definition · Messaging architecture · Website communication
Result
A communications platform that translates technical compliance expertise without flattening its complexity.
The challenge

The expertise was real.
The language was not there yet.

A social compliance consultancy working across agriculture, food and textiles. The expertise was deep, but the language of standards, documentation and audit requirements made it difficult for people to see what was actually being evaluated, or what needed to be built in practice.

Passing an audit and building a system that works are not always the same thing. The communication needed to make that distinction clear without using fear, performance or unnecessary jargon.

The insight

The real gap is not between a policy and a standard. It is between what exists on paper
and what happens in practice.

That gave the communications a practical centre: identify what holds up, what does not and what an organization can do next. The positioning could stay technically credible while becoming more direct, accessible and human.

The shift
Expertise without a structure → A brand with a narrative
Audit language → The gap between paper and practice
Experience listed on an about page → Experience as the argument
Founder narrative

A career that only makes sense as one line.

Outdoor guide → Organic inspector → A decade of field observation

Read as a list, they look like separate chapters. Read as one line, they reveal a career spent close to the systems, workplaces and people that standards are meant to protect.

We built the founder narrative around the moment that changed her perspective: a pandemic-era closing meeting where someone was held accountable for a result they had no power to produce, and one question nobody else was asking.

“And the people?”
The question that became the positioning, and now opens the site.

What changed

Technical compliance became a position
people can understand and act on.

The resulting communications direction is technically credible, radically transparent and deeply human. It translates standards without oversimplifying them and treats worker dignity as more than a compliance position.

She left with
A point of view
A structure
A brand
Different audiences can enter the work at the level of knowledge they already have.

“I am an expert in my industry but struggle with communicating it. Camila helped me bring my mission to vision, and the outcome was unbelievable.”
